The Royal Air Force Air Defence Radar Museum
A Registered Charity
Opening Times and Prices
The Museum is staffed by Volunteers and is only open at certain times.
The Museum is open as follows:
The FREE Guided Tours run every half hour from 1030 with the last Tour at 1500*. The Tour, which is optional, lasts for 1 hr 30 minutes and is well worth joining as it puts the history of Air Defence into context at the very start of your visit. Most of our Visitors do go on the Tour!
The Museum is a Registered Charity and relies entirely on Entrance Fees as well as voluntary donations. We hope you will agree with all our visitors* that the Museum represents exceptional value for money.

People are quite amazed when they get here -
We hope you will enjoy your visit. However, we also take Customer Feedback very seriously so we can improve the enjoyment of all our visitors. Please do take time out to give us your views. If you did not manage to fill in one of our Feedback Forms during your visit, why not send you views in? You can print off a copy of the Feedback Form below and, once complete, just send it in to the address on the Form!
The Younger Generation
The Museum hosts over 1000 children a year with their Families. School Groups are also catered for and it is a pleasure telling the next generation about Radar. However, due to the layout of the Museum, it is not really suitable for Playgroup outings or other similar events involving large numbers of younger children without prior notification. If you would like to bring a group of children on an outing, do contact the Museum first so we can arrange a suitable programme for their visit ahead of time. Details of our Education Programmes can be found at our
Places to Stay/Things to Do when you visit us!
When you visit the Museum you will spend several hours here! However, we realise many of you are here on Holiday and would like to do other things as well -
* While every effort is made to run Tours, this is subject to staff availability. That said, in 3 years we have never not run Tours but, sadly, we are unable to guarantee that we will be fully staffed. New Volunteers are always welcome so
please contact the Manager if you would like to become a Volunteer!!!!!
The Museum operates the Gift Aid scheme. You will be invited to complete a simple Gift Aid form when you enter the Museum. If you make a Donation of just 10% per person, we can then Gift Aid your Entrance Fee. Please do consider the scheme as it is a great help!
